The Process
From First Conversation to Finished Book
A clear, unhurried path — designed so you always know what happens next and never lose control of your own story.
-
Week 1
Confidential Consultation
A private, no-pressure conversation. You tell me as much or as little as you are comfortable sharing. We discuss what the book is for, who it is for, and whether your name appears on it at all.
-
Week 1–2
NDA & Written Agreement
If you require discretion, a mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement is signed before you share anything further. You then receive a written agreement covering scope, timeline, milestones, copyright, and payment.
-
Week 2–3
Story Mapping
We build the architecture of the book: the timeline, the turning points, the themes, and the chapter outline. You approve the map before a single chapter is drafted.
-
Weeks 3–10
Recorded Interviews
A series of guided conversations, recorded and transcribed, held by phone or video at your pace. This is where the book actually comes from — you talk, I listen, and I ask the questions that unlock the details you had forgotten.
-
Weeks 6–20
Chapter-by-Chapter Drafting
Chapters are written and delivered as they are completed, so you are never waiting months to see progress. You read, react, and correct along the way — nothing is a surprise at the end.
-
2 full rounds
Revision & Refinement
Two complete revision passes on the full manuscript, followed by line editing and proofreading. If you are publishing anonymously, this is also when we review every identifying detail.
-
Optional
Publishing & Launch
Interior formatting, cover art direction, ISBN and metadata, distribution setup, and launch copy. Publish openly under your name, quietly under a pen name, or privately for family only.
What You Provide
You Do Not Need to Be a Writer
Your memories
Told out loud, in conversation. No writing, no outlines, no homework.
Your honesty
The parts you would rather skip are usually the parts readers need most.
Your time
Roughly one to two hours a week during the interview phase.
